Scholars, experts and figures from 30 countries are taking part in the two-day event, which is underway at Shahid Bahonar University, according to Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Arefi, an official with the organizing committee.
He said in a speech at the opening ceremony that the Arbaeen procession has been held throughout history, but in recent years, its emotional and religious aspects have gained more attention, turning it into a global force.
Arbaeen has fostered resilience because it stems from the heroism of Imam Hussein (AS), the champion and leader of freedom seekers worldwide, he stated.
He added that today, supporters of resistance are demonstrating their power all over the world. “In fact, resistance has become a badge of honor on the forehead of the Islamic community and all freedom-seekers worldwide. Supporters of resistance are showcasing their strength not only in Asia but across the globe. The connection between Arbaeen and resistance is very strong, and the culture of Arbaeen is, in fact, born from resistance. The survival of Arbaeen owes much to this resistance.”
The conference is focusing on topics such as Arbaeen and the culture of resistance, Arbaeen, law and international relations, Arbaeen and economy, Arbaeen and spirituality, ethics and health, Arbaeen and the new Islamic civilization, and Arbaeen and the culture of anticipation.
